Dr. Alex Pierce was born and raised in Altoona,Iowa. After graduating from Southeast Polk High School, he attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then went on to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA, receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in October of 2022. During his time at Palmer, he took the time to invest in his career before graduating. He attended numerous seminars, studied thousands of hours in course work, and fell in love with the profession of chiropractic.
Dr. Alex holds certifications in multiple different techniques and treatment types. A few myofascial techniques include full-body Active Release Technique, which is considered the gold standard in all soft tissue manual therapy and Graston technique. He has studied and received certificates in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). On top of these very specialized techniques, he also offers cupping therapy, KT taping, and other specialized treatment options. Although not all of these tools are used in every visit or patient, we take the time to dig into your case and choose the correct game plan to tackle your problem.
Being raised in Altoona, Iowa, Dr. Alex is very excited to come back to the Des Moines metro area to serve and give back to the community, friends, and family. He is looking forward to working in an environment that focuses on individual's health and longevity. Integrating rehabilitation and soft tissue techniques is a major part of his treatment and he loves to see how his patients respond to a chiropractic/manual therapy treatment plan. He cannot wait to meet and grow relationships in the Johnston community - the area deserves top-notch practitioners to deliver high quality care and he hopes to fulfill those needs.
